How else are you people fighting for change apart from holding meetings? The MDC-Dallas branch The MDC-Dallas branch stepped up to the plate with a massive show of solidarity with the main MDC Party in Zimbabwe by taking to the streets of downtown dallas Saturday afternoon the 17 July 2004. The emotionally charged gathering sang, Toy toyed and chanted much to the amusement of those curiously passing by. The venue was the scenic Ferris Plaza, opposite the Dallas morning news building. Participants drove from as far as 3-4 hrs away. Moving speeches were given by Ms Tshekeche, the District vice Chairperson, Mr. Msimbe, the branch Vice Chair, Joseph Nyamanjiva of the branch Demonstrations committee, Rev Walter Sithole and visibly touched, Andrew Mudzingwa the District vice secretary and Branch info and Publicity Secretary choked back tears as the Master of ceremony. Praises of MDC President, Morgan Tsvangirai were echoed repeatedly whilst the despotic Robert Mugabe and His regime were vilified with calls for an immediate end to arrests and persecution of political opponents, release of all political prisoners. Restoration and legitimization of government. An end to all state-sponsored violence. Restoration of political and civil liberties. Depoliticisation of food distribution. Disbanding of all militia groups. Stop the persecution of workers, women and youth. Restore a non-partisan police, army and prisons service. Stop the political persecution of professional soldiers, police officers, prison officers and judges. Stop the persecution of the church. Restore law and order. Free the airwaves. Restore academic freedom. End state-sponsored electoral violence, fraud and for respect of human rights of all Zimbabweans. A huge banner read "Wake up World, Zimbabwe is Dying". Some of the banners read, "No To Militias", "Free and fair elections now", "Citizens in the diaspora must vote", "Free the Zimbabwean Press", "Restore rule of law", "Mugabe Rigs elections", " Independent electoral commission now" and "Tsvangirai, Zimbabwe's only hope!" Thanks to the hard work put in by Johannes Mutyanda, Joseph Nyamnjiva and Andrew Mudzingwa, fliers and hand outs were handed out to members of the public. "This is only the begining of a world wide campaign by MDC branches in the diaspora, and more vigils are scheduled until there are free and fair elections in Zimbabwe following a cessation of all human rights abuses. The demonstration clearly shows the level of disatisfaction with the Mugabe regime amongst Zimbabweans from all across the world now. We , the people are saying Zvakwana! Enough! Sokwanile! Its time for Change! Andrew Mudzingwa MDC-Dallas Information and Publicity secretary Tel: 214 458 6066

we zimbabweans (in opposition) are talking too much...doing too little. Everytime we do this we are playing into mugabe's hands..(the oppressor) consider the millions of words that have been written..expounding the evils of mugabe and zanu...and yet the only force that will remove them is action...for example * boycott the election (or you legitimase him) * stop buying his newspapers and don't advertise in them * same goes for ztv * be for more vigorous in the campaign for hearts and minds...especially in south africa (where the battle is lost or won)

Nduku you are right, AS we can all see zpf is dead without Jonathan Moyo and Chinamasa. We are the youth and we must initiate the uprising. Mandela as the leader of ANC Youth League foarmed Umkhonto Wesizwe not to create violence but to end it. Now I am calling for people like you Nduku and Imbwanyoro to come out with a stratage for us youth in the upcoming elections. We need your clever minds for they think of practising what u think. We are tired of chatter boxies who talk and talk and talk like girls playing nhodo. Comeon comrades we need a direction

The only difference between ZANU(PF) and MDC is that ZANU is an ACTION party while MDC is NOT.
Whether it is for good or bad reasons, right or wrong reasons, ZANU(PF) ACTS.
It's high time MDC changes its maitiro. Change is needed the most and urgently in MDC not ZANU(PF).

Munjanja, Harare has more than 2 million people. We are a MASS party ( or are we??)
Let us hold a real MASS action. Kwete Mahumbwe egore riya. Let ZANU PF kill all of us. Remembe Ghandi
Tsvangirai must go to UMP, Hwedza, Mt Darwin, etc. He must take the risk. He must be prepared to die. The revolution will NOT die with him.
Those in exile can help by zipping their coward mouths.

Munjanja, You do not retreat with only half a mile to go. That is stupidity. In November- December 2001, people where ready for a real MASS action. The MDC leadership retreated under the pretext of pending school exams and the festive season. Was that your advice Munjanja???
Can we please STOP theorising and BE practical.
The same with elections. People are busy theorising. With or without a fair electoral process, we must PARTICIPATE.
I remember ZANU (PF) participated in the first election that put them in power. Only God knows how much air time they were given on RBC (ZBC). Not to mention coverge in the Rhodesian Herald.
What is the MDC trying to prove anyway?? Very often I get pissed by some of the decisions 'we' make.

Chinoz and all the restless zimbabweans. I was lucky to be directed to this forum by one Mwanawehure from the newzimbabwe.com forum, he obviously thought he was making a mockery of the MDC forum. I guess he visits this forum often as a zanupf C10 fool.
Anyway, here my contribution(s): If you are in SA, be there when COSATU holds its meetings and offer to be on the fore-front of "business blockade" of any kind, be it sending back zimbabwe truck drivers on foot, leaving behind their truck-loads, or cutting off any supply line. If you can run battles with the local police for a week, zimbabwe will be grounded in hours.
I cherish the work done in Texas Dallas. These courageous guys are doing the right thing, making the world know the evil in Mugabe.
If you are home, wherever you see the word garbage, add the prefix Mu to read Mugarbage, for Mugabe is now worth the bin.
Anything is better than nothing. And please limit criticisms among ourselves. Some criticised MT for his tips in the region but now we are beginning to see results. Others wish MT were in UMP, Gokwe etc, yet this must be planned and proper security measures taken. How many of you went out of their way when Bennet got what he got?
Others want to participate in the elections whatever the outcome, I wish to remind them that this is not a soccer match, it will involve people and many will die in the process. What is wrong in asking for free and fair elections? If the conditions (minimum) are not there, why risk you limb?
I hope to be frequent in contributing my minds for the common goal. And lastly, please read contributions in parliament by MDC members so you see how people like Priscilla fight for the country. Thank you.
