I feel betrayed by the Secretary General and those advocting for participation. They should have looked at this issue from a national perspective. While it is true that Zanu pf has no chance of winning in Matebeleland because of the overwelming support for the opposition in the region and in urban areas, it should be understood that the support is not enough for a change of governement which is what evryone is calling for. In other parts there is too much intimidation and electoral fraud which makes it pointless for the MDC to take part. In Matebeleland and in the cities even if there is no campagining the MDC will win but even though we have seen how violence is now being used by Zanu pf even in those regions. There should be no room for compromise whatsover what we need as Zimbabweans is total freedom of expression and association and that is what we should be calling for. This we can achieve together if we rally behind a common constituational reform which wil lead to new elections and a new future. It makes no sense to continue to participate in elections when we will not be bound by the results. Since 2000 results have always been flawed so whats the reason for continued participation. There is need of a change of emphasis and this is what will bring about change in Zimbabwe and not the confusion that we see. Those who are for participation should realise that the mass is against this and you are aliieneting yourselves withj the people. Showing disrespect for leaders will not help in any way. As for Job Sikhala he shoould be made to resign from the party as soon as this dust settles down

Adidas,I cannot agree with you more. What does the generality of Zimbabweans want?People are fed up with the Mugabe regime and it's trademark for policy inconsistencies and failures. We want a change of government. We have tried this through the ballot, which ended up being stolen in 2000,2002 and now 2005.Morgan is right!!!We the people feel betrayed by the support for participation in the Senate project by the General Council's 6,who think the party's constitution is larger than the people's feelings on the ground.I sense selfish interest in these Senate elections. If the MDC voted against the 17th amendment of the battered Zimbabwe Constitution providing for the setting up of the Senate, where is the rational of participating in this junket!!!The Senate will be a total waste of time and money.Delivering his supplementary budget in August,Minister of Finance,Herbert Murerwa set aside 100Billion dollars and he shall be announcing another huge budget for the senate at a time poor people are starving and the economy is grinding to a halt due to acute shortages of fuel.Where are our priorities?Zanu PF can harass the opposition and rubbish Tsvangirai over the Senate debacle but the truth is that the majority of people are focussed on removing it from power-today or tommorrow.Zanu PF is not even ashamed that Mugabe did worse things on the appointment of the Vice President in his party. He literally imposed Joyce Mujuru and clamped down on voices of dissent in the so-called Tsholotsho group.Iam happy that Tsvangirai is reading the mood of the people. My observation is that very few people will bother to vote in the Senate elections, save in the rural areas where Zanu PF wins through intimidation and threats. We shall see who will laugh last-Morgan Tsvangirai or sellouts in the General Council 6.

IN support of Adidas, all sane Zimbabweans, and that is the majority of us Zimbabweans see the light. Tsvangirai has stood by the principles of the MDC. there is a clear cut line between the role of the party's spokesman, and party president. In the Constitution when an even of a national nature such has been the Senate issue, the president by default oversides the spokesman. The spokesperson is given the green light by the presidium, and cannot cross the line of the president. The spokesperson in this Paul Themba Nyathi jumped the gun because his interest was to cover the aspirations of the Council's six. It is not yet time to wine and dine with the rogue Mugabe, but that is what the MDC Senatorial candidates are rushing to do. It is wrong, and here is why: The February 2000 referendum was a NO VOTE, precisely to disenfranchise baba vaChatunga's power ego. To protect the rights of every Zimbabwe against the mighty of misguided Zanu (PF) mongrels. Before that in the mid-90s when sentiments were getting low on the rogue Mugabe, the NCA began to draw support for the implementation of the draft constitution, not an amendment. Robert waited for twenty d**n years to do it, too late. A lot of people died and got maimed during the NO VOTE campaign, especially so after the referendum defeat. The defeat was a NO to whatever Mugabe would want to amend. Amendment 17, is just a very close call to it. So why join the murderers, to protect your constituency, what constituency do you have or own? Some executive members did not even consult us on the senatorial vote, yet they emassed themselves with six. Please do not abuse my trust. I give that trust and endorsement to Morgan Tsvangirai. I might come from what you call your constituency, but I will never vote for the Senate seat. I will in fact advocate that we drop the bombshell by pulling out of the parliament altogether. Long live Morgan, long live the principles that bind every sane Zimbabwean together, let the MDC be the cross-ethnic party that it is. Chinja Maitiro, Maitori Chinja. To you Adidas lets join the very strong trend to rally on good principles, I will be besides you in action and deeds. MJ

Job Sikhala says what he did was a hoax! The hoax will soon catch up with him. National interest of the people must come first. You do not have to wash your dirty linens in the public, yet very wrong forum of Zanu (PF) controlled media, the Herald or the CIO Funding Gazette, and think you are doing us any good. When did the Herald ever took sides on matters of the MDC? Vhuka Job, get to work for the common people, not for Mugabe and his cronies. We hope you will constitute a vibrant sane MP against Mugabe's oppression, and we will be watching.

People lets take our national Congress to heart. Now that we know who is who at least within the National Council, the party at large, the opportunity has been given us the people (we are the Movement for Democratic Change) by God to be wise, and to choose our Mosess' with great care and precision. God is the answer, and he works in mysterious ways. Pambili lelizwe leZimbabwe.
