Why should we wait for the West to do something for us.
If one wants something, one stands up gets and gets it. If we want freedom we must fight for it. The only thing we must ask the West is for financing an armed struggle against ZANUPF. And if you kill Mugabe, ZANUPF will almost be dead.
Vukani ma Zimababwe, and fight your fight. If MDC maintains its head in the sand policy, then an alternative institution, one that is prepared to remove ZANUPF must be created NOW.

I am a neutral Zimbabwean Living abroad and when i say neutral I mean I dont support either Zanu Or MDC well both are very useless and all need to be taken off the face of the earth. Well I do support the Govt and the clean up exercise they have embarked on and do find it very good and it will probably restore Harare Sunshine status, I have regularly visisted Zimbabwe ever since I moved abroad and every time time I came back the place was getting uglier and uglier, well thumbs up to the Govt for cleaning up the place, so that when I visit with my Indian girlfriend I wont be ashan-med of the place. Keep up the good work Bob and co, Ndiwe wega mudhara

I'm sorry to Ko Kutyei, but I think his/ her remarks are way off the mark. Whilst we all agree that the citites are cleaner than before, we certainly cannot condone the manner in which it has been done. The end does not always justify the means and in this case, this is truly the case.
ZANU has a history of doing unbeliveably brutal things which look justifiable on the surface but have severe repercussions later: - Gukurahundi was conducted under the premise of looking for dissidents but it just amounted to burning a house to kill a snake. - they changed the cosntitution and the elders at the time thought it all looked good but look at the scenario now. - the land invasions had the full backing and coordination of government and now the very people who were in the forefront have been neglected - no wonder they are calling themselves political condoms. - now we have Murambatsvina!!! Ingantius Chombo himself signed a number of leases for the cooperatives to operate from. When the MDC said there was no rule of law, it meant precisely this - now someone woke up one morning and decided to cancel all the leases (but forgot to tell the tenants and give them notice). Chombo personally officially opened some of the settlements himself. At the same time, would so many people be so stupid to put up such elaborate structres "pasina chavaka tsika"? If you believe this then you have a great deal of contempt and disrespect for your kinsmen here. In Bulawayo the markets along Fifth Avenue were hailed as examples of informal street traders should be organised, now they have also been destroyed - never mind that the tenants were duly licenced by council and were paying rates.
Agreed that the towns look better, but who allowed them to deteriorate to this stage. I believe the people should have been given notice (60 - 90 days) and the unlicenced guys be allowed to remain in business, but our government doesn't have time for such niceties (they are buffoons who are very reactionary and don't think until they have messed up things) so they once again burnt the house they built to kill a few rats (government fed if I may add).
I mentioned earlier that the government always has ulterior motives - I now hear that a ZANU-PF card is needed to get a trading licence.
We need to be careful about what we support.

I feel very ashamed at the moment to be Zimbabwean not about what is going on at home, its what is going on here in the UK, THESE FAILED ECONOMIC ASYLUM SEEKERS have tainted us Zimbabweans living here in the Diaspora, I believe the Govt does not pursue anyone on arrival at Harare International, The truth is these people have probably been living here in the UK for a number of years illegally and jumped on a band wagon when the British Govt was granting refugee status to those who applied for Asylum at arrival at any port of entry. They do not do anyone a favour at all when they potray the govt at home as being brutal, some of these people left Zimbabwe in the late 90s and then they claim they are being pursued, all these people is just fuel speculation in the west and encourage the west to press more sanctions on the govt and as we all know sanctions dont affect all those in govt they affect the man on the street. I feel very ashamed that Kate hoey has taken up the fight to help Zimbabweans and yet in the UK and in her constituency there is a lot to be done I think she must solve problems in her own backyard and let Zimbabweans solve Zimbabwes problems. AND NOW FOR THOSE FAILED ASYLUM SEEKERS I URGE YOU TO GO BACK HOME TO ZIMBABWE AND MAKE A POSITIVE INFLUENCE THERE RATHER THAN MAKE A BAD NAME FOR ZIMBABWE, SAK IMI MUNOFUNGA KUTI IVO MABRITISH ZVAKAKUNYIMAI REFUGEE STATUS VANOPENGA HERE VANOZIVA KUTI MURI KUNYEPA. NOW JUST HAVE YOUR BAGS PACKED READY TO GO AND WE WILL SEE YOU WHEN WE VISIT ZIMBABWE REGULARILY. GENERAL GANDANGA

I have been following events as they unfold in Zimbabwe on the on the ongoing clean up campaign. I do support Govt in its efforts to try and and restore Harare and the whole Country back to its old self. However it is sad to note that not everyone has sided with the Govt in this Respect, It is common knowledge to every Zimbabwean that Harare was riddled with illegal settlements that sprung to exsistence during the Govt backed Land grab campaign What is sad is that we know the Govt is not desrying any property that is illegal but all those that are illegal and those who have informed the World have not done so fairly. contrry to all that is being said in SA and the West this is a welcome initiative from the Govt and it should continue until Harare and the Country in General is nice and clean like it was before. It is a shame that Morgan "Brainless" Tsvangirayi has said it is earmarked at driving MDC supporters out of Town no its not at all and you should note it is to clean the place and make it tidy. Once again you have gone around the world telling them a bunch of more lies in respect to all of this. Well this should inturn work to your advantage as those driven out of town can go and vote for you in the rural ares where you have no support at all.
Once again please dont go around the world and embarass us again with your cheap talk.

THIS IS AN OPEN LETTER TO MORGAN TSVAGIRAYI.
Dear Sir
The ongoing Clean up exercise that is currently being carried out by the Local authorities has in a way made Harare clean and very pleasant, what I would like to know is whenever you do come into power will you the locals build those shacks and backyards cottages that made Harare look ugly, or you will stick to Harare being clean agian

GUESS WHAT MORGAN, SINCE YOU ENCOURAGED ZIMBABWEANS TO SEEK ASYLUM IN BRITAIN, THE UKs LARGEST IMMIGRATION THINK TANK HAS REVEALED THAT ALMOST 90% OF THOSE SEEKING ASYLUM IN THE UK ARE NOT INFACT ZIMBABWEANS BUT ARE OTHER FOREIGN NATIONALS JUMPING ON THE BAND WAGON, SO I SUPPOSE IF YOU STAND FOR UN SECRETARY GENERAL YOU WILL EVERYONE WHO IS NOT ZIMBABWEANS LISTENS TO YOU, HENCE WHY YOU ARE NOT GOING TO BE THE NEXT PRESIDENT YOU ARSEHOLE.

The problem with Zimbabwe is that it lacks true leadership. The country needs a strong opposition leader with a strategy for instituting regime change, wresting power from the ZANU-PF party, and implementing a democratic constitution which limits the power of the politicians and places it in the hands of those better qualified to administer the country. A meritocratic system with it's inherent competencies is far better than an autocratic "party political" system which fosters mob rule by incompetent political followers and would-be politicians. We've seen that latter time and time again in Africa, and we breed dictators as a result, to the detriment of all peoples. Governments see themselves as the "owners" of the countries they administer, instead of the public service they were mandated to perform on behalf of the citizens.
Fraud and corruption is rife among politicians in Africa - why? Is this acceptable? They are stealing from the people who put them in power!
We need to rid ourselves of party politics and replace it with a system of competent governance. Health policies and legislation should be determined by the health professionals, education by the education professionals, finance by the financial industry, defence by the defence force, etc. What qualifies politicians to decide on matters beyond their comprehension?
Zimbabwe needs a leader, a new constitution... and a renewed national effort to rebuild the country to it's former strength. All Zimbabweans, both internal and in the diaspora, must nominate and elect a true leader and rally behind him or her to take Zimbabwe back from the incompetents who are ruining it today... with international backing, and force if necessary.
