All hope is not lost. Maybe your party must formulate real policies that benefit both rural and urban voters. A credible opposition must have solid policies apart from taking their turn on the feeding trough. Engage policy makers and academics to formulate policies for you for free. Most of them would not miss the chance to contribute to their country.

MDC should not be backward looking the election were going to be rigged. Calling for a election re-run is simply just silly. Why not start campeigning now for 2010 elections? What about an underground movement to reach the rural folk. Why do they consistantly vote ZANU? If there is going to be a mass uprising it would be silly if that "uprising" only occured in Harare or Bulawayo.
The should be rural re-education programme, so to speak" to bring the the rural folk to our way of thinking.

i am very much disappointed in the outcome of the recent parliamentary elections.people in th rural areas shouldn't be fooled like this, being told that they will be beaten up if they vote for the oppsition party.the working living in the urban areas are the ones who suffer trying to look for their old ones in the rural areas and they are trying to change things to make sure they get jobs ,food which enough for their families including vanamai kumusha, yet these vanamai continue to vote for ZANU PF.they learn ,how come computers were being donated a few days before the elections, think about it.

The reason leaders are elected is for them to lead the people not to be led by the people. We need people who can make good decisions on our behalf with our trust. At this moment it may not be the correct time for leadership change since this will weaken us. In line with proposals from Mugabe for a senate and the post of prime minister we need to take on board other people into the struggle with fresh ideas who will help us achieve freedom. Tsvangirayi should decentralise authority to other people, a task force specifically decigned to counter everything Zanu pf is doing to weaken the MDC. As we are discussing this our structures in the dispora are not intact they must be strengthened with new people taking over . Even in Zimbabwe we need not to be taken by surprises. Our intelligence is weak, by now we should have infiltreated Zanu pf to the point were we would have all the details about how they rigged the election. Zanu pf is organised and is supported by CIO's and the army among others. We also should have people committed to the struggle working full time for the cause. Let us go back to the drawing board and for this we need people willing to accept change for progress. Change is a continous process and even for us in MDC there is need to change. Our policies have not been communicated effectively to the electorate. It is time we realise that we need to convince the electorate that we are an alternative government not just oppose for the sake of oppossing without any alternative policies. Let us take lessons from the last election and ensure that in future we don't fall in the same trap. The electorate has become very sophisticated, in rural areas they only vote for people who have done something for them. It is unfortunate that in almost all the contituences, we were unable to do much for the electorate because of governement restrictions. Neverthelesss, even in Zanu pf people like Jonathan MOyo who came up with practical solutions to the problems facing the people were voted for despite all odds being against him. We cannot leave campaigning to only the last two months as we did this year. People in rural areas will vote for people whom they know who have done something for the cummunity. Any prospective MP should be able to demonstrate that they have contributed something to the community. You may hate nyaya yema club emadzimai but that is the reality of village politics. The elections have presented us with the opportunity to repackage ourselves to Zimbabweans , the region and the International community. We need this commitment from our leaders . There is no time for a governement of national unity with Zanu pf we should be focussed on strengthening ousrselves not to be concerned about positions in government

I am a staunch suppoter of the MDC, freedom and democracy. I am filled with pain when our fellow Africans declare a fraudulent poll to be free and fair. I am equally disappointed by the lack of a concrete strategy by the MDC leadership in the aftermath of this comic poll. If protests and demostrations were going to be succesful in putting pressure on the illegal regime they should have been embarked upon as soon as the election was stolen.
We need to be strategic. Before the poll we were told a strategy existed to counter a stolen election. But as things stand I see no action on the part of our leadership to call upon the masses to reclaim their basic freedoms which have been stolen for the third time in a row. I call upon Morgan Tsvangirayi to be fearless of prosecution and call the people of Zimbabwe to engage in protests and render the country ungovernable. No one but us the people of Zimbabwe will reclaim our democracy. God bless you all who are still committed to the struggle for democracy despite another setback. WE shall prevail. Freedom is coming as long as we don't give up the fight.

I do not understand it anymore. MDC is going again to the courts while it knows it's a dead end alley. Probably the MDC MP's take up their token seats now also in the puppet parliament. This is a re-run of everything we saw since 2000. I follow the lead of Zvakwana. As they say: There is now a vacuum: if MDC don’t fills it with hope, it will be filled with Zanu PF fear. In many different countries around the world people power has been organised that has eventually removed dictatorships. At this time we as individuals need to dig deep and find our own inspiration and motivation for challenging injustice and intolerance. This often means that we have to become our own leaders. We need to lead by personal example whether it is organising small house meetings to discuss challenging the regime, or making our own leaflets and sharing them in community, or standing UP to institutional repression by refusing to pay taxes to the state (in any form: income tax, levies, licences etc). We cannot go face to face with an enemy that has all the state machinery at its disposal so we must work with stealth like a thief at night. Jambanja is not an option but we have an obligation to neutralise the machinery that is used to enslave and impoverish us. Any institution that doesn’t work for the people is against the people. MDC start to BOYCOT THE 18th of April - No celebration without Liberation

i was in the rural areas (Mash Centr.) the pple there have accepted CHANGE ... i believe our resistance to change is the demonic ZPF bastards who (once again for the third time) have stole the results .....
i was there at the MDC Dambatsoko Rally on the weekend b4 the elections where Mushonga addressed us ... the mood all over the place was that of a DEMAND_FOR_ASAP_CHANGE ...
lets not hate the rural fockes for they are only victims of the satanic regime ... lets sympathise with them ( lets @ this point be aware of the divide-and-rule old politrick ) and our minds will be clear ..
my fellow friends ... we have already crossed the line .. we are already in hell, we thus have nothing to fear!!
we have but one enermy - resistance to change !!
i introduce myself as Tichaonana ndaDinga Ndiwe, it nice meeting u too.

If there is going to be a mass uprising it would be silly if that "uprising" only occured in Harare or Bulawayo. ON THE CONTRARY, THAT IS EXACTLY WHERE ANY FORM OF UPRISING SHOULD BE. ECONOMIC AND SUPPORT BASE WISE.I believe that the rural folk want to vote MDC, but cannot because it is much easier to persecution them than it is urban people. Those who did vote MDC, or are thought to have voted MDC are on the brink of deliberate starvation by the GVT. EVEN IF THEY ALL VOTE MDC, STILL ZPF WILL RIG AND WIN THE ELECTIONS. IS THERE ANYONE WHO BELIEVES THE MDC WILL WIN IF THE ELECTION IS RE-RUN?

There is need for each one of us to whip the rural folks into line. When will they ever learn. They are the people miserable, starving and benefiting absolutely nothing from this tyrranic government,We need to remove those blinkers from their faces and the right time to start that is now.By the time we get to 2008 we must have porked some sense into these shameless folks. The ZESN has overwhelming evidence of the just ended election riggings by zanupf.Let us use their report for our petitions with electroral court. REMEMBER THE TIME TO START PREPARATIONS FOR THE 2008 PRESIDENTIAL ELECTIONS IS NOW AND I MEAN NOW.

Are we waiting until 2008? I thought we all agreed that elections do not work? And I also thought that there was no 2008 anymore, but MAYBE 2010?
